Grog on Wheels recognises the need for businesses in Australia to give back to the community and as a result, even in its infancy, is committed to sponsoring community events that will enrich and enhance the lives of individuals.
Christmas Party for Special Children
The Christmas Party for Special Children is a project run in conjunction with The Salvation Army and supported by a number of sponsoring media companies to provide a Christmas Party for children with a variety of special needs.
Since 2008 Grog on Wheels has sponsored a child and their carer to attend the Christmas Party for Special Children which is held at the Adelaide Zoo. Sponsorship includes support of South Australian children who may be orphans, neglected or victims of abuse, have a life threatening illness or special needs. This is such a special event and Grog on Wheels continues to sponsor a child and their carer each year. www.christmasparty.com.au/Adelaide.asp.
The Toy Run is a fantastic fundraiser where businesses and the general public can get together and support underprivileged children in Adelaide. The 30th annual MRA Toy Run was held on Sunday, 14th December 2008 and, as in past years, Grog on Wheels made contributions to this special event.
The Golden Club was established in 1989 and has been providing a social place for lesbian women aged over 30 in Adelaide to feel relaxed and be themselves. They have a range of events including dances, camping, tennis days, quiz nights and breakfasts to try and cater to a range of women’s interests.
Grog on Wheels has been proudly supporting the Golden Club since 2009 by providing a range of prizes as well as recycling bins and sandbox ashtrays at various events.
